AI robot responding to interviews… ‘Giant drone’ that can move for 30 hours on battery [MWC 2025]

“How to enjoy the world’s largest mobile exhibition (MWC 2025)?” (Reporter)
“Take your time and look around slowly.” (AI robot)
The reporter speaks to a woman wearing a red sweater. When thanking her for the interview, she says, “I hope my interview was helpful.” At the end, when asked to take a picture, she raises her hand and makes a “cheese” pose. This is the story of an AI robot released by a UAE news agency.
The theme that ran through the world's largest mobile exhibition (MWC 2025) held in Barcelona, Spain on the 4th (local time) was 'Future Filling Daily Life'. Artificial intelligence (AI), which had been superficial until last year, has now penetrated every aspect of daily life. Literally, we were able to get a glimpse of the future daily life that has been changed by AI.
The 6G era, scheduled to be commercialized in 2030, is up to 50 times faster than 5G and can be integrated with various devices. For this reason, everything from telecommunications companies that have reached the limit of growth to electronic devices and various startups have gone 'all-in' on AI.
China Mobile, which brought out what appears to be a helicopter at first glance, described it as a “giant drone.” It is still in the testing phase, but it has a futuristic design and impressive specs. It has a maximum load of 235 kg and a speed of 130 km/h. It can travel for 25 to 30 hours on battery alone.
KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications company known as the 'convenience store kingdom', has come up with a 'mobile convenience store'. The interior, which looks like a car, is filled with various snacks, triangle kimbap, and mobile phone chargers. In some areas of Japan, autonomous driving is being implemented, and the vehicle can travel up to 100 km in 5 hours at a speed of 20 km/h. It is said that the service will be launched within this year.
Domestic company FRT Robotics has come out with a wearable robot. The wearable robot, which is manufactured to the standard size of an adult male, reduces muscle fatigue by up to 40% and prevents musculoskeletal diseases. It helps to lift objects 15-20% lighter than the original weight. If the repetitive task of lifting heavy objects is limited to 100 times, it can be done up to 160 times. For this reason, the National Fire Agency and Korea Forest Service are also using it.
Chinese company Unitree has unveiled its 130cm tall, 35kg humanoid robot, G1. One of the most popular robots at MWC 2025, G1 showed off individual skills such as greeting, shaking hands, walking, and holding an egg with three fingers. However, it still seemed difficult for it to get up on its own after falling down.
Likewise, a motion-recognition robot hand demonstrated by Chinese company Honor. It imitates the shape of a human finger. The motion recognition does not yet appear to be perfect. Even though the audience said OK, the robot hand drew a 'ㄱ' shape.
People flock to startup Silvernet. The Silvernet wildfire sensor identifies wildfires in minutes, minimizing damage and impact. The sensor has built-in AI, which ensures fire detection with high-sensitivity gas detection and minimizes false alarms. The 4YFN (4 Years Later Global Company) event, a sister event of MWC, attracted startups seeking investment and people looking for investment.
